ICEYE Expands European Operations with Addition of Poland Office

New office expansion enables SAR microsatellite developer to accelerate growth in satellite operations and customer service.

Helsinki, FINLAND – October 13, 2017 – ICEYE, the leader in synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) technology for microsatellites providing expanded access to reliable and timely earth observation data, today announced plans to expand operations into Warsaw, Poland to further develop ICEYE’s operations and accelerate company growth. Tapping into the country’s deep and growing talent pool of engineers, ICEYE’s expansion into Warsaw is the company’s first office outside of its current headquarters in Espoo, Finland. Coming on the heels of securing nearly $15M in funding just this year, ICEYE remains on track to be the first organization in the world to launch SAR microsatellites.

ICEYE’s Poland office, set to open later this year, will house one of ICEYE's Mission Operations Centers to control communications with the satellite constellation. A Customer Service team will also be incorporated into the Poland office to provide technical assistance, access to information and image request services. The office will be led by ICEYE’s Polish operations managers Robert Wagemann and Witold Witkowicz, who will be responsible for all Polish recruitment efforts as well as scaling ICEYE’s customer services to a maturing base of clients.

“Poland presents the perfect opportunity for ICEYE to expand staffing and increase our ability to serve current and future markets with reliable and timely Earth Observation data,” said Rafal Modrzewski, CEO and co-founder of ICEYE. “Having grown up in Poland, I’m uniquely familiar with the area’s diverse talent, and I couldn’t be more excited to expand the company’s presence in Warsaw and throughout Europe. ICEYE is preparing for the launch of our first SAR microsatellite before the end of 2017.”

ICEYE is attending the 20th Job Fair for Electronics Engineers and Computer Scientists on October 16, 2017 at the Warsaw University of Technology. Interested applicants can apply directly for internships and job positions in Poland, as well as meet part of the ICEYE team.
