Helsinki, Finland – July 1, 2026 – ICEYE, the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space, today announced the expansion of its wildfire intelligence capabilities to Canada, cementing the company’s position as a global wildfire intelligence provider and bringing critical tools to one of the world’s most wildfire-exposed countries.
Canada has faced increasing wildfire activity in recent years with the Canadian Climate Institute reporting that the previous three fire seasons have been among the 10 worst ever recorded. ICEYE’s wildfire solution provides a much-needed resource for insurers, government agencies, and risk management organizations operating in Canada.
With this launch, ICEYE now offers its full suite of wildfire capabilities in Canada including near real-time monitoring and building-level damage assessment. Canada joins the United States and Australia, making three of the world's most wildfire-affected regions now covered by ICEYE's end-to-end wildfire intelligence.
Among the suite of tools, ICEYE’s building-level damage assessment is key for clients who require timely intelligence. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites can gather rapid, accurate insights regardless of smoke, cloud cover, or darkness, enabling faster emergency response and risk evaluation.
"Canada has been on our radar for some time, and we're proud to offer the same proven capabilities that our clients rely on in the U.S. and Australia," said Penelope Kourkouli, Product Manager at ICEYE. "This launch extends our wildfire product to a third major market and reflects the growing need for faster, more reliable wildfire intelligence in high-risk regions."
